Six years in the making, Residence 950 was designed with the most discerning homeowner in mind. The story behind the design
“We designed 950 Lombard as though it were our own dream home”, says Gregory. “It was essential for us to provide a home that is truly unique, has the most sought-after amenities and materials, and remains understated from the street and then reveals a rare level of amenity and openness.”The openness extends throughout the expansive, yet secluded, gardens, and into the main, three-level residence and wellness cottage. Each space is visually connected by maintaining Troon Pacific’s signature level of quality and attention to innovative technology and performance.
The main residence bears a spacious, open concept with internal rooms offering outlook or access to the surrounding gardens and soaring city and bay views. Natural light penetrates the interiors in unique and innovative ways throughout including via a luxury glass elevator with skylight above and custom-designed steel and timber floating stairs.“Our mission of creativity allows for flexible, future-proof layout so that new owners could make it their dream home and adapt it to their preferences and lifestyle,” says Gregory. Each room is dressed in luxury materials such as Calcutta Oro marble kitchen countertops and Black Raven Granite in the guest bathrooms. A custom Jonathan Browning-designed bar ripe for entertaining is the highlight of the home’s ground floor as well as the spacious two-story art gallery.

Take a closer look
The attentive design and careful planning extend to the restoration of an existing one-bedroom cottage, detached from the main residence. Now known as the home’s ‘personal wellness centre’, the sophisticated cottage has become a “refuge within a refuge.” And while visually less elaborate than the main accommodation, its ultra-performance systems and biophilic design continues to evoke the feeling of luxury.With the layout previously only affording one bedroom and bathroom, Troon Pacific creatively incorporated a steam room, sauna, outdoor shower and hot tub for total relaxation. In addition, the cottage features a kitchen, great room and massage area.
Signature Element
One of the home’s more visually captivating amenities is the moody cantilevered infinity-edge lap pool that’s positioned above the backyard. Clad in stone, the pool’s reflection connects the property to the surrounding San Francisco bay views and adds to the extensive wellness offering.
The peace and serenity extends into the gardens which Troon Pacific describes as “a private park in the heart of the city.” Century-old olive trees, lemon trees and native flowering shrubs and ground covers border pathways and outdoor entertaining areas. The abundance of lush green landscaping is offset by stone-paved alfresco dining and theatre areas complete with outdoor kitchens, firepits and heated bench seating.Hidden below the garden are more facilities and lavish design details. Black Raven Cobblestones line the drive and lead you to a dramatic, underground four-car garage which has been likened to that similar of a “bat-cave style” tunnel.
