Perfectly private and surrounded by bush land, this level acreage block was a blank canvas for designer Michael Zias. With large sweeping lawns and existing tennis court, an open plan single level home that could sprawl out across the landscape was the perfect fit.
Drawing on cues from 1960s architecture Zias has combined classic and contemporary styles to create a tranquil modern home. Huge glass windows and expanses of natural limestone flooring blur the boundaries of the house to really create a sense of outdoor living. Baw Baw dry stone walling has been used on blade walls that run through the home and into the landscape, again, blurring the indoor outdoor distinction and adding a sense of texture to the crisp modern finishes of the house.
The end result is a calming home that perfectly blends contemporary and classic architectural styles and is striking on the landscape.
