Serenity In Ibiza
Designed by Berlin interior stylist Annabel Kutucu, this private residence on the Ibiza is the perfect escape from the over-the-top party vibe. Embracing natural materials, Kutucu has maintained the character of the architecture and formed a relationship with the site’s arid landscape.
Bamboo, rattan, timber, natural stone and linen are materials that dominate the interiors. Bringing relief to the earthy palette, are the uneven, rendered white walls. The rafters are left untouched, as are some of the stone walls to enhance the texture and tactile nature of the space.
The imperfections are exposed, there’s not a polished surface in sight and very few crisp edges. You can almost see the hands that have crafted the house. It feels beautiful warn and the restraint creates an understated elegance.
Natural stone runs the entire way through the home and on the outside terraces. Crazy paving is then used around the outdoor pool and pergola covered entertaining are before trailing off to gravel and garden beds.
The neutral colour palette of earthy stone, whites, taupes and dark grey play emphasis on the craftsmanship and organic feel of the home. These subdued tones provide a sense of relief from the heat of the Spanish sun.

There’s a feeling of ease and serenity in Kutucu’s design. There’s nothing flashy about the interiors. It’s minimal, simple and modest. Just spaces that showcase patinas and textures in their raw, natural state.
