Pool Fences Combine Safety Style
Not only do you want a pool fence that creates a safe outdoor environment and meets your local regulations, you’ll want it to be aesthetically pleasing. Rather than install a clunky, off the shelf product, take cues from these contemporary pool fence designs that combine safety with style.
Clean, glass pool fencing
Wyer & Co have opted for a simple glass swimming pool fence in this contemporary garden. Not only does this give clear views from the interior of the home, the clean design also compliments the architecture.
A stunning feature
To distract the eye from a pool fence, Growing Rooms have run a dry stone feature wall along the perimeter of the pool. The black metal also allows the green of the garden backdrop to pop.
All about the green
Clare Cousins Architects in collaboration with Eckersley Garden Architecture have squeezed a small pool in this inner-city backyard. By cladding the boundary walls in ivy, your eye is directed to the wall and the fence becomes a discrete element.
Enclosed for privacy
Corben Architects have created privacy for this pool by building a Barrimah traditional format stone wall around the property’s perimeter. Fencing one side in glass allows for the pool and feature wall to be visible from the garden, entertaining area and inside the home.
Mixed material palette
Needing to protect this pool and garden area from the gusty coastal winds, Atelier Andy Carson created an enclosure using timber cladding and Wamberal Free Form stone. A standard black metal fence and gate is positioned at the entrance and raising the pool has allowed for complete openness on one side.

Raised up
If pool fences aren’t your thing, take inspiration from this pool designed by WAX Design in collaboration with Troppo Architects and Elite Pools. Finished in Andora Limestone, the above ground pool becomes a feature and negates the need for a traditional pool fence around most of the structure. Where privacy is required, a Coolum limestone wall and timber slated fence offers saftey and an attractive backdrop.

The best of both
Outdoor Establishments have opted to use a metal fence on one side and glass on the other with both fences extending out from an enclosed entertaining area.
Cleverly concealed
To avoid disrupting the outdoor area with an unsightly pool fence, Facet Design have discreetly concealed a glass fence within the architecture of this home. They’ve also cleverly utilized the tennis court fence to divide the two spaces.
A framed pool
Also, concealing the pool fence is Glasshouse Projects with this design by framing the fence with the large pergola. By doing so, the black structure and the tiled pool become the focus and the glass becomes almost invisible to the eye.
